History

In 1990, Mary Help of Christians Church was barely a year old when Father Tom Wisniewski called together a small group of women to form a Ladies Guild.  That September, seven dedicated and determined women brought together other parishioners at a potluck supper, and, by October, Mary Help of Christians Women's Club was formed.

The group's objectives were established:  Promote spiritual development among parishioners; promote Christian goals through community service and unite the members in purpose and direction through meetings, activities and community endeavors.

By the end of the first year, the club had 24 members.  With Father Tom as its spiritual director, the club had an executive board of directors as well as three commissions:  community affairs, family affairs and organizational services.  Proceeds from the club's various fund-raisers helped the religious education program and more than 80 needy families, who were "adopted" by the women's club.

Through the years, the structure and objectives have remained the same.  The club's monthly meetings are on the second Tuesday of September through April at 7:30 p.m. in the church.  We have a great variety of outstanding speakers and programs.
